The scientific name of L-Valine is L-2-Amino-3-methylbutyric acid. This amino acid is white crystals or crystalline powder; No smell, slightly sweet taste then bitter. Melting point is about 315 degrees. 5% aqueous solution of the PH value is 5.5-7.0. Heat, light and air stability. Soluble in water (8.85g/100ml, 25 degrees), almost insoluble in alcohol and ether. Specific rotation[a]D20: +26.5°∼+29.0°.

L-Valine is aliphatic amino acids ,one of twenty protein amino acids  and one of eight essential for human body. It also belongs to one of the three branched-chain amino acids. Involved in connective tissue, epithelial mesenchymal capillary formation, and maintain normal permeability, can increase appetite and promote secretion of pepsin, enhance immunity, improve the growth retardation, to prevent tooth decay and promote the growth of children and improve calcium absorption, promote bone growth, the lack of the human body when the body would affect the growth and development, caused by a nerve-impaired, movement disorders, anemia, and so on. Used as the main nutritional supplements, and the main ingredients of amino acid infusion and integrated amino acid preparation.
